Difference Between Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) For Tablet

Google Androids has taken the market by storm and is constantly inventing new mobile technologies. Android the 3.0 version of Honeycomb is mobile operating system with a platform designed especially for tablets with large screens. It was first introduced in the month of January in the year 2011 and the first update was released in the month of May in 2011. The biggest release was the unveiling of Android 3.1, which takes nothing away from Android’s 2.3 release of the Gingerbread, which was introduced in 2010 of December. The Gingerbread is user friendly for both the Smartphone and the tablet. When Google released the 2.3 version of Android it also unleashed the Nexus S a undefined Google Smartphone powered by none other than Gingerbread. It has four updates, and the newest version the 2.3.4 version is set for release in 2011 in the month of May.

Android Honeycomb 3.0

The first Android platform that is made exclusively for tablets and large screens is the Honeycomb. It has some very updated and redesigned features. It has a multi core environment support, five home screen options, brand new ipad wallpaper enhancements, and newly designed widgets. The keyboard has been reinvented with new shapes, new buttons, and repositioned keys. There is no physical buttons to deal with and the keys are located at the bottom of the screen.

Android 3.1 Honeycomb

The Android 3.1 is an update version of the 3.0. It comes with many more features and easier navigation. The user is able to quick access up to five home pages with one touch of the button. The new update device is able to support more input devices and it has more USB connectors. Some of the standard applications work even better with the new and improved larger screen. Applications such as the Calendar, the Browser and the Gallery are better optimized. Online web pages can be saved for offline browsing.
