Difference Between Baptist And Pentecostal

There are similarities between Baptist and Pentecostal groups which are different Christian groups however they are quite different. While both Pentecostals and Baptists have similar belief as far as Trinity is concerned, the Pentecostals have a greater tendency to follow the Spirit and Baptism of Holy Spirit. Unlike the Baptists who pray gently and without much noise primarily sing hymns, the Pentecostals make more noise when praying and sing loudly. While on one hand Pentecostals still are believers of mystic spiritual language, according to the Baptists speech and direct exposure are not required. The Baptists shun the modern music and their women dress up very unpretentiously unlike the Pentecostal women who are seen in long dresses without any jewelry or make-up. The Pentecostal people also shun worldly music and watching television. According to the Baptists, once someone accepts Jesus Christ as the Savior a faith is saved eternally unlike the Pentecostal belief of a loss of salvation in case a faith is not kept. According to the Pentecostal belief one is not still to be saved until he has “believed, absorbed, and acknowledged the Gift of the Holy Spirit”. However the Baptists believe that once a person is sorry for his actions and calls upon God he or she is saved. According to the Baptists once a person is saved, no matter how he leads life afterwards he will always be saved unlike the Pentecostal belief that one should be leading a pious life even after being saved. Pentecostal women can be pastors however Baptist women cannot.
