Difference Between Conclusion and Results

The conclusion and results are two terms in the English language, used in the writing of thesis and investigations and experiments, respectively. The conclusion is the end part of a thesis or an investigation. On the other hand the results are part of the conclusion of an investigation or a chemical experiment. This is one of the main differences between the conclusion and results.

The conclusion is the briefing of the findings of the scientist or researcher. This should be short and to the point. It should contain concise and brief paragraphs. A conclusion should not contain lengthy descriptions. In contrast, the results can be statistical in nature and even descriptive. If they are descriptive, then they may contain lengthy paragraphs.

The purpose of the conclusion is that, the reader should understand the validity of the findings of the researcher. The results of a chemical experiment or an investigation are intended to present before the reader, relevant and accurate information based on the statistical data. This is the important difference between the conclusion and results.

A dissertation or a thesis cannot not be submitted without a conclusion. In other words, ‘conclusion’ is a very important part of a research or a thesis. In contrast, the results of an investigation or a chemical experiment, establishes the validity of the survey or the experiment undertaken.

The results are not the end of an experiment. The scientist will work further based on the results of his experiments. If the results of the experiment were not to his satisfaction, then he would redo his work to get better results. On the other hand, a conclusion is the final word in the preparation of a research paper or a thesis. A thesis is often assessed on the basis of its conclusion.
