Difference Between Day and Date

Day and Date are two words that are often confused as far as their use is concerned. In fact these two words have different uses. The word ‘day’ refers to any particular day in the week. On the other hand the word ‘date’ refers to ‘the number of days in a particular month. “This is the main difference between day and date.

Look at the two sentences:

1. It goes back to London on Wednesday.

2. You must go there on Friday.

In both the sentences given above you can see that the words Friday and Wednesday are the days of the week.

Sometimes the word ‘day’ is used in words like ‘today’, ‘yesterday’ and other such as in the sentences:

1. I went to church yesterday.

2. I want to go there today.

In both the sentences given above the words ‘yesterday’  and ‘today’ are used in the meaning ‘day’. It is important to use the word ‘day’.

Look at the two sentences:

1. Tomorrow is March 15th.

2. I will come to your home on Feb. 25th.

In both the sentences given above the words, March 15th and February 25th represent the dates of a calendar year.

It is important to know that both the day and date are important in the astrological point of view. Now the astrologers give importance to both days of the date by studying the behavior of planets on human life. The date is important to determine the length of the month and also the remainder of the month as the sentence ‘Today is March 20th. “He suggests that there are only 10 days left in the month.
