GMP vs. CGMP

Difference Between GMP and CGMP

Around the world, to help meet global standards and to assist in providing healthcare and pharmaceuticals that are of similar quality, the GMP’S has been accepted and followed by most countries in the world since the last 50 years. Goods Manufacturing Practices (GMP), play a major role in keeping up standards in these products worldwide by providing guidelines. Countries who offer GMP guarantee ensure the quality of pharmaceutical products so that the people around the world can count on the products. Slowly and gradually, the GMP’S has become a pre condition to export healthcare products to over 100 countries worldwide. It has become a trend to refer to as CGMP. Here, c refers to the rules and regulations that serve to remind manufacturers strictly follow the guidelines and procedures that are current in the updated.

The use of c as a prefix to GMP is an essay by regulating authorities to ensure that countries, especially the manufacturers who follow the directions, but still use age-old machines and equipments to manufacture medical products change and adopt the latest and more advanced production processes. This is something that of course has forced many manufacturers to give up on old practices and a change in the final production process. It also helped in the avoidance of contamination, mistakes and mix ups at the same time assisting in the production of medical care of high quality pharmaceutical products.

GMP guidelines are very broad in nature and cover all aspects of business such as qualifications of staff, cleanliness, book keeping, systems and procedures, equipment, et cetera. In fact, GMP has helped in raising standards of healthcare products and has strict regulations that the accepting countries must follow. Companies that fail to comply with the provisions of GMP face the serious consequences that include fines, imprisonment and withdrawal of products and so on.
