Difference  Between Interactive and Passive Graphics

In the science of computer programming and graphics, the term Interactive and Passive graphics are often employed. A Graphics is defined as everything one sees on a computer that is has no text or sound, put quite simply, these are computer produces images one sees on the monitor.

The creation and development of these images on a computer makes it easier for the common public to understand and interact with information that is neither sound nor text. It allows people and computers to communicate at a higher level. Computer graphics have had a significant impression on how people communicate with machines and enhance the transfer of information from computer to person. Computer graphics are of two types: Interactive and Passive.

Interactive computer graphics allow the user to manipulate and control the image on the screen, on the other hand, Passive graphics cannot be manipulated, thus, the user has no control over them whatsoever.

Interactive graphics has plenty of advantages over passive graphics. Some of them are as follows:

  2. Lower Cost/ More economical
  3. Better productivity
  4. Low analysis

Interactive Graphics has three main components, it includes digital memory, monitor, and display controller. The latter is stored in the computer’s digital memory in the form of binary numbers that represent pixels. In Black and White Graphics, the data is in the form of 1’s and 0’s in the digital memory. The Display Controller reads the information from the digital memory and converts them into video signals and keeps it steady 30 times/ second just so that you can see a steady graphic on the monitor.
