Difference Between Leapster and Leapster 2

Leapster and Leapster 2 are two different computer based learning game programs. In certain aspects they differ from each other. The Leapster is designed for the children of of 4 to 10 years of age. For the educational pupose it provides a game console.

The main difference between the two is that Leapster 2 contains some additional features which the Leapster lacks. Leapster and leapster 2 are developed in the years 2003 and 2008 respectively.

The main additional features in Leapster 2 are USB port and SD card slot which are lacking in Leapster. That is why leapster 2 is more preferred than Leapster. These two additional features in Leapster 2 are very useful for the users.

With the help of Leapster 2 one can play downloaded game and log data on the game. This is possible only with USB port and SD slot in Leapster 2. This facility is absent in Leapster.

A few of the games played with the help of Leapster include Talking Words, The Letter Factory, Counting on Zero, Letter on the Loose, and Math Circus etc. All these games are included in the Leapster 2 with a few additional games such as Draw and Write, Desney Tangled, The princess and the frog, Scooby Do, Disney Pixar, Toy Story 3 etc.

Leapster 2 provides a number of supports techniques such as adjusting the skill levels of the learners, learning details for the parents of the learner, audio-visual guidance to improve writing skills of the learner. It also facilitates tutorials that are built in devices in Leapster 2.

Leapster 2 is full of learning support techniques which extremely helpful for both learners and parents. About 40 learning games are contained in Leapster 2 which is largest collection of learning games.
