Difference Between Muscle And Bone

Muscle

Muscle, a fibrous tissue whose contractions move the limbs, trunk, and internal organs of animals. Muscle tissue of some kind is found in all animals more complex than sponges.

Man and other vertebrate animals have three kinds of muscle—skeletal, cardiac, and smooth—differing from each other in structure and in the way their action is regulated or controlled. Similar kinds of muscle are found in most invertebrates. The main variations occur in the speed and extent of contraction. Insect skeletal flight muscle, for example, contracts more rapidly than any muscle man has.

Skeletal Muscle

Skeletal muscle, commonly called meat in the butcher shop, is also known as striated or voluntary muscle. It is the most abundant of the three kinds of muscle and constitutes about 40% to 50% of the total body weight in humans. Skeletal muscles are controlled by the central nervous system and are the only muscles subject to appreciable voluntary control.

Skeletal muscles typically act by moving the parts of a skeletal system about their joints. The skeletal system may be either internal, as in the case of man and other vertebrates, or external, as in the case of grasshoppers, clams, and many other invertebrates. In man, for example, the arm is flexed or bent at the elbow point by the contraction of the biceps muscle, so that the lower arm approaches the upper. Although one usually thinks of muscular contraction in connection with locomotion, human communication is achieved through the contraction of muscles that move the mouth and tongue in speech and of muscles that move the arm and hand in writing, painting, or playing a musical instrument.

Bone

Bone, the type of connective tissue that makes the physique’s supporting framework, the skeleton. They  act as a store for phosphorus and calcium, and the bone marrow inside the bones is the body’s main producer of both red and white blood cells. Bones are the levers on which muscles operate.

Bones differ somewhat in response to an individual’s age and sex. The bones of ladies are usually lighter and smaller than these of men, while kids’s bones are more resilient than these of adults and have a tendency to bend moderately than fracture when irregular pressure is applied to them. Bones additionally respond to physical and physiological changes.
