Difference Between Pounds and Kilos

After the adoption of SI system of measurement in 1959, the world has accepted kilogram as the unit of measurement of weight. Yet there are countries like the U.S. and the UK who still cling to imperial system of stone and pounds. The relationship between a pound and one kilogram will be discussed in this article including a few interesting facts.
1 kilogram is the standard unit of weight in SI system and it is considered to be the mass of a liter of water which is the International Prototype Kilogram. In fact, the kilogram is a unit of mass, not weight as the weight of a person is the product of mass of his body and gravity of earth there.
