Difference Between PSP 2000 and PSP 3000

PSP 2000 and PSP 3000 are both potable gaming gadgets, manufactured by the Sony, a familiar name in the world of Multimedia gadgets.

PlayStation Portable 2000 series or PSP 2000 was a trend setter as it was smaller and lighter than any other portable gaming devices of the same category available in the market at that time, with a  width of 6.7 inches, height 2.9 Inches and depth 0.63 inches, and weighs 6.7 oz. The most exciting features in this version of PSP are USB charging, external video output that enables to connect the PSP to TV and higher memory, which results in better functions during times when the system is getting more exerted. Coming in a black color it also has a universal Media Disc, and a processor of 333 MHz with a RAM of 64 MB memory. Display format of PSP 2000 is 130, 560 Pixels and its resolution is 480 x 272. Along with built-in speakers, stereo has been used as sound output. One rechargeable battery is also there along with in the package.

PlayStation Portable 3000 series or PSP 3000 is similar to the PSP 2000, as far as the specs are concerned. Its width, height and weight are almost the same as that in the PSP 2000, however it is an upgraded version. The LCD of PSP 3000 has almost five times better contrast ratio and response time is also better than the PSP 2000. The new features are the built in microphones. The performance is also enhanced, when used outside the home or covered area, the screen does not reflect the light, unlike the PSP2000. Color space settings – as in the choice to switch between the Normal and wide setting is also offered in this model. In Normal mode, picture looks slightly brighter, but in wide mode, colors are rich and with a higher contrast. The picture looks better and sharper.

The key factor between these two is their LCD, which is better in PSP 3000. The built in microphone is an extra feature in PSP 3000. Picture quality is enhanced in PSP 3000, as claimed by Sony, and picture is brighter and sharper in the Sony PSP 3000.
