Difference Between Tonsilitis Vs. Strep Throat
Tonsillitis refers to infection of the tonsils, which often leads to sore throat accompanied by severe pain and fever. However, strep throat is a class of streptococcal infection falling in Group ‘A’ and has its effects on the pharynx, larynx and tonsils glands.
In tonsillitis the tonsils become infected with viral or bacterial infection. Such problems start with a swelling of the tonsils causing great pain and turmoil. As soon as certain bacteria and viruses enter the body through the nose or mouth, tonsils are the first biological filter they pass through. The filtering process often starts in the white blood cells resulting in the following symptoms if an infection is detected.
