Sap vs. Oracle

Difference Between Sap and Oracle

The acronym represents SAP Systems, Applications and Products in Data processing. SAP is an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software that integrates multiple business applications, which are designed for specific business areas. Today, many large companies like IBM and Microsoft are using SAP products to run their businesses. The Oracle database (simply known as Oracle) is a ORDBMS(Object Relational Database Management System) which  supports a wide range of platforms. The Oracle DBMS is available in different versions for personal use and enterprise-class versions.

What is SAP?

SAP, means Systems, Applications and Products in Data processing. This is type of ERP software that performs the function of integrating multiple applications relating to business. SAP facilities the administration and keeping a track of sales in real-time, production, finance, accounting and human resources in an enterprise. Traditionally, computer systems used in companies maintained separate systems to manage different business processes like production, sales and accounting. Each system maintained their own databases and the interactions between systems were made in a programmed manner. Instead of this, SAP maintains a single system of information for the company and common data is accessed by all the applications. Applications communicate with each other when the real business events occur. Now, when instances in production and sales production occur, the automated accounting is done. Sales are able to sense the time when the production can be delivered, etc. and the entire SAP system is designed to work in real time. SAP is a very complicated system and it runs on a fourth-generation programming language called ABAP (Advanced Business Application programming).

What is the Oracle?

The Oracle is an ORDBMS produced by Oracle Corporation. It can be used in large corporate environments as well as for personal use. The Oracle DBMS is composed of storage and at least one instance of the application. A illustration is composed of operating system processes and structure that work with memory storage. In the Oracle DBMS,  SQL (Structured Query Language) is used for the purpose or accessing the data. These commands of SQL can be entrenched in other languages or could be directly executed as scripts. In addition, stored procedures can be executed using the invoking PL / SQL (procedural extension to SQL developed by Oracle Corporation) or other object oriented languages like Java. The oracle uses two- level storage mechanism. Tablespace is a organized logical stage forming the initial stage. Tablespaces consist of memory segments that are in turn made up of more measurements. The second level is Physical storage in the form of data files.

What is the difference between SAP and ORACLE?

SAP is an ERP software integrates multiple complex business applications, while Oracle is an ORDBMS that could be made use of in an enterprise environment. SAP allows the administration and real-time tracking of sales, accounting, production, finance and human resources in an enterprise, while the Oracle DBMS can be used to administer data in a company. SAP is developed for use with many database systems and includes interfaces for Oracle too. During the initial installation of SAP, Oracle can be defined as the database will be used and then the SAP system will release SQL commands that are compatible with the Oracle DBMS.
