Vasectomy Vs. Castration

Difference Between Vasectomy And Castration

vasectomy, an operation performed on men as a means of birth control. The surgical procedure vas deferens or sperm duct, is tied and cut. This prevents sperm produced in the testes from getting into semen and thereby prevents a dog from impregnating a female. Vasectomies are also performed as part of prostatectomy operations, to prevent the spread of infection from the prostate to the testis through the sperm duct.

Vasectomy has no effect on sexual desire or performance. Typically the amount of sperm in each ejaculation smaller than a pinhead, so its absence after a vasectomy can not be rejected. The fluid for ejaculation produced by the prostate gland, which lies farther along the genital tract, so that the trigger seems normal.

The fast, simple surgery is usually done at the surgeon office, using local anesthesia. Two incisions are made as each testicle is served by a separate sperm duct. To find the channel, hugging the surgeon gently with your thumb and forefinger of the outer part of the scrotum in the area just above the testicles. The channels have a firm, rubbery texture. After injecting an anesthetic, the surgeon cuts the skin to expose the channels. Each channel is bound with a surgical suture materials, and a portion of each is removed and sent to the laboratory to provide a permanent document of the successful completion of the operation. Sterility does not occur immediately, because the sperm that had previously passed the point where the channel is bound to continue to appear in the ejaculate for a period as long as a month. Semen should be examined several times after surgery until the sperm no longer exists. This determines when the man is sterile and will also check that the operation was successful.

Castration is the surgical removal of one or both testicles of a male person or animal to suppress the development or function of the gonads. Male farm animals spayed or neutered in order to improve the breed, or make the animals more docile, pets can be neutered to keep them from wandering or produce unwanted offspring. Castration of the female animal by removal of the ovaries is called spaying. Responsible breeders of purebred dogs on the general surgical neutering of pet quality animals in an effort to reduce pet overpopulation problem, many animal rescue organizations insist that the animals are placed for adoption must first be neutered.

The practice of castration in men are extremely old. In imperial China and other Eastern empires castrated men called eunuchs occupied important judicial positions. In Europe in the 16th to the 18th century male singers were sometimes castrated before puberty so that they would retain a soprano or alto vocal range (see castrato). Today can be performed on men with prostate cancer or certain diseases of the testes. If the activity occurs after puberty, it provides sterility but have little or no effect on secondary sex characteristics.

I was kicked in the nuts by a steer when I was 11. At puberty I experienced much pain in the testicular area. After fathering a child I decided to have a vasectomy done. (because of the high risk pregnancy for her)There was many very painful complications associated with the procedure. After an accident in 2006, I started having much pain in the area again. 10 years later a urologist agreed that a bilateral Orchiectomy would be beneficial. A year later I have no pain whatsoever, and my girlfriend loves it. I’m a lot less excitable she says, and still perform well with HRT. on that note… Had I been given the option, I would have opted for the castration in the first place. The tests revealed that the testes were trashed from the trauma and the vasectomy surgery, and were on their way to dying anyway…
