The difference between Bangalore and Hyderabad

Bangalore and Hyderabad are two important cities in India. Both are industrialized and home to millions of people, but there are many differences between the two cities.

About Bangalore

Bangalore is located in the Indian state of Karnataka and is the capital city of the region. It has the nickname of “Garden City”. It is a global city and has the rank of a Beta World City. It is comparable to Cairo, Boston and Berlin in this regard.

Information technology is the main economic activity of this city as it is home to some of the world’s largest software companies. Telecommunications industries and the development of defense systems are also part of this economic boom and the city has become the fastest growing city in India, making it an economic hub of the country. It is regarded as India’s version of the Silicon Valley and is the largest exporter of IT products in the country. Some of the major employers in this city are Bharat Electronics Ltd., Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd., and the Indian Space Research Organization.

There are three main groups involved in the IT industry of Bangalore. These are Software Technology Parks of India, International Tech Park and Electronics City. The city is the headquarters of two of the primary software companies in the country – Infosys and Wipro.

Tourism also contributes to the economy of the city. Some of the popular attractions are the Bangalore Palace, Vidhana Soudha, Hesarghatta Lake and Basavanna Gudi. The city is also the seat of the Yakshagana dance form.

About Hyderabad

Located in the state of Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad is the capital city of the region. It has been nicknamed the “City of Pearls”. It has the sixth highest population of any other city in India and is a major hub for the IT industry. For this reason some have called the city Cyberabad. Even though the bulk of the industries are related to information technology, there are other industries that contribute to the economy of the city and the country.

Real estate is booming in Hyderabad, with the areas of Banjara Hills and the Jubilee Hills. The people of the city speak Telugu, Urdu and Hindi. There is a flourishing Telugu film industry in this city.  Some of the major employers in this city are Matrix Laboratories, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories and Aurobindo Phrama Ltd. As you can see the pharmaceutical industry is very important in this city as well as information technology. Several Fortune 500 companies have their headquarters in Hyderabad, such as Microsoft and Oracle and TCS Deccan Park is one of the most active branches of TCS in the country.

Hyderabad is home to a flourishing culture and arts scene, especially at the well-known Ravindra Bharati. The city is renowned for its cuisine, especially the Hyderabad Biyani. The city has exceptional transportation links, served by railways, a network of highways and an international airport, which as the distinction of having the longest runway in the country.
