Difference Between BSC and  BSC Hons

Both B. Sc. and B. Sc. Honors are bachelor degrees. But they have differences between them. Actually, both are academic degrees.

B. Sc. is a pure science and a pass degree. B. Sc. Honors is also an academic degree but is an extraordinary degree in science. B.Sc. Honors is a popular degree awarded by the universities of countries such as Australia, Britain, India, Canada, Sri Lanka etc.

Generally, the period of completion of both the courses is the same that is three years. However, few universities take longer duration in the completion of B.Sc. Honors. This is the difference between the two courses.

Another difference is that in B.Sc. honors, a student has to submit a dissertation to qualify for B.Sc. honors degree. Dissertation is not necessary in B.Sc. Degree. The student of B.Sc. honors has to study a vast syllabus than the student of B.Sc. Thus in the vastness of the content, there is a difference between the two.

It is true that B.Sc. honors are a superior degree to B.Sc. As far as getting the job is concerned, B.Sc. honors are given preference. In this way B.Sc. honors is more preferred by the students. These are the basic difference between the B.Sc. and B.Sc. Honors. However, B.Sc. is not less popular than B. Sc. Honors.

Thus we see that both B.Sc. and B. Sc. Honors are the popular among students. They both are the science field of studies. But there is a marked difference between the two.
