Difference Between Earth and Saturn

The two planets Earth and Saturn are different when it comes to their characteristics and nature. Earth as well as the Saturn belongs to our solar system, earth is part of the inner solar system and Saturn is in the outer solar system.

It must be remembered that the earth supports life while the Saturn does not, because the earth has land while Saturn is a gas giant made mostly of hydrogen and helium. The rotation of the earth is the same as the revolution of the earth. An imaginary line connecting North Pole with South Pole and passing through the Earth’s centre is called as Earth’s axis.

The earth rotates on its axis from west to east and this rotation causes night and day. The earth completes a rotation every 24 hours. It is said that the moon is the closest neighbor to the earth in space. The moon is also the natural satellite of Earth.

One important difference between the two planets is that the earth is the third planet from the Sun while Saturn is the sixth. It has rings around it. Earth is 150 million km from the sun while Saturn is 1427 million km from the sun. Saturn is nine times larger than the earth; the diameter of Saturn is 74.898 miles while the diameter of Earth is 7.926 miles.

Earth takes 365 days revolve around the Sun. while Saturn takes 30 years to revolve around the Sun. This is an important difference between the earth and Saturn. This shows that Saturn does not have the conditions where life is possible. It is said that this is very cool and dark in the Saturn because its distance from the sun is farther in comparison to that of earth. On the other hand the earth has all favorable conditions for supporting life.
