Difference Between Humidifier and Dehumidifier

You feel low humidity if you are living in very cold weather. Due to dry air, many health problems arise in such weather. On the other hand you feel humidity if you are living in a hot weather. It becomes difficult to breath in such conditions. In both the extreme conditions living is difficult. Humidity level should be normal for comfortable living. Humidifier and Dehumidifier are the devices to control the level of humidity. Let’s know about them and see the difference between them.

Humidifier is a device which adds moisture content in the air inside the house. On the other hand, a dehumidifier is used to remove excess humidity to make the humidity level to normal. Humidity is measured by hygrometer. The ideal level of the humidity in the air according to doctors is between 30 to 50%. If the humidity is lower and higher than this, dehumidifier or humidifier will have to be installed.

A humidifier throws water vapors in the atmosphere. A specific water tank is made in the device. Electric power is needed to boil the water. The vapor produced in the tank is thrown in the house which increases the humidity level in the house. A dehumidifier works exactly opposite. It takes air from the room and passes it through cold tubes. The moisture in the air is stored in a container made in the device. Humidifier now comes with ultrasound waves to vibrate water and spray it.

Both the equipments should be maintained carefully. Both of them need cleaning time to time. As the water is stored in them, it may be hazardous as the bacteria and malaria mosquitoes may breed in it. It may pose health problems. So this device needs regular cleaning. Both humidifier and dehumidifier are necessary to maintain proper humidity around us while we are at home.
