Difference Between Leukemia and Lymphoma

dly diseases commonly known as cancer. Leukemia occurs in white blood shells. Cancers may be acute or chronic. They can be divided into myeloid leukemia or lymphoid leukemia based on the cells they affect. There are four main types of leukemia in total commonly suffered by human. They are acute myeloid leukemia, acute lymphoblastic leukemia, , chronic myeloid leukemia and chronic lymphoblastic leukemia.

The white blood cells and red blood cells are formed in the human bone marrow. They came out from stems cells in the bone marrow. Special cell lines forms myeloid and lymphoid cells. Cell division is natural process. They are automatically controlled. But when they divide with an uncontrolled speed, they form a tumor which is called cancer. Generally chemo therapy and bone marrow transplantation therapy are used for the cure of cancer.

In Lymphoma cancer occurred in lymphoid tissue. Commonly found ymphoma is of two types- Hodgkins lymphoma and non Hodgking lymphoma. Lymphocyte are of two types- B and T. Sometimes Lymphomas exist in lymph nodes. For the treatment of this Radio and chemo therapy are used. Children can also suffer from Lymphoma.
