Difference Between Love and In Love With

‘Love’ and ‘in love with’ is of two different states of mind. It is important to know that ‘love’ differs completely from ‘in love with’. Love is based on affection. You love your child. On the other hand, you can be in love with a girl. There are many differences between these two feelings.

The love of children is based on affection. Having someone fall in love is based on infatuation or physical attraction. This is the main difference between ‘love’ and ‘in love with’. It is interesting to note that the fact of someone being in love is based on romance.

Loving someone is based on pure affection. Love is universal and lasts long. On the other hand, the feeling of ‘in love with’ is not universal and may not last long. This may last until the desire is realized or the feeling dies off.

When you love someone, it means that you are caring and affectionate towards him or her. On the other hand, if you fall in love with someone it just means that you feel passionate for that person. It also means that you have lost your heart to him or her.

In love, you do not need to give your heart to someone. It runs on understanding. Being ‘in love with’, does not run on understanding; it runs on just infatuation. The purpose of ‘in love with’ is to achieve materialistic pleasure. The purpose of love on the other hand, is to realize the spiritual pleasure. This is one of the main differences between ‘love’ and ‘in love with’.

Love does not break or fail under any circumstances. On the other hand, ‘in love with’ has a tendency to break at times. In these subtle ways, the two states of mind differ from each other.
