Oven is used for both baking and heating the food. So it is popularly used in the homes. It is used for baking bread. On the other hand microwave only heats the food. Thus it has one less advantage for the user.
The first microwave was developed and introduced in the market in 1967. It is comparatively newly. On the other hand, several types of ovens have been created and used in different civilizations in human history and even in the present day. Thus they are traditional cooking appliances. Yet, they have been improved with the new technology. Earth oven, gas oven, ceramic oven and microwave oven are a few types of ovens.
In fact a microwave is not always suitable to cook certain types of foods. It is because of the fact that they do not produce the culinary effects which is required to cook a few food items. That is why people prefer traditional oven.
A microwave requires a high voltage source to produce heat. It contains an electric power converter along with some other items including a high voltage capacitor and a magnetron control circuit.
A traditional oven is used for heating and roasting for cooking food substance. Several types of food can be cooked only with the help of the oven such as meat, bread, Casseroles, cake and desserts. Gas and electricity as fuels are used in modern ovens to produce heat. Ovens are used in different purposes like furnaces, kilns, autoclaves, and industrial ovens etc. Thus oven’s uses are wider than a microwave.
