Difference Between Nature and Nurture

In the terminology of behavioral psychology, the two words ‘nature’ and nurture’ are used with a difference in the two.  When we talk of nature, we refer to the genetic and hereditary attributes that one generation passes to the other. The features and attributes that one inherits from the ancestors are ascertained by nature. An artist has a very high probability of having a grandfather or great grandfather with an expertise in the same field. The process of inheritance is responsible for this.

Now coming to the conception of nurture, it had got nothing to do with hereditary aspects or genetics for that matter. What it actually refers to are the aspects of manner, allusion and upkeep. Only after having done and gained a lot of experience in the field of writing, will a writer become an expert in the art. It won’t necessitate his forefather being writers too. And that is the major difference.

Shortly, we can say that nature is dependant upon the elements of inheritance while the process of improvement refers to nurture. Nature is dependant upon hereditary while nurture rests on the duration spent over the attainment of skillfulness. Nurture is not genetic dependant while nature is all about hereditary and genetics. And lastly, time duration has no meaning concerned with nature, while it is an integral process for nurture.
