Difference Between Now And Know

As far as the meaning of the two words are concerned, now means the present moment and indicates time and know indicates the possession of some knowledge. It means something that your brain has processed and stored inside. As for example- What will you do now! This sentence asks about what you are doing at the present. In the sentence Do you know how to… It means someone is asking you about some knowledge.

Now can be used in many ways- as a noun, conjunction, adjective and also as an adverb. As an adverb now indicates the present and it is not associated from past and future).As an adverb now is associated with a sense of urgency in an action. As for example- Lets do it now. Now is also used to imply a situation rather than time. e.g. It cannot be done now. Now is also used to indicate a particular time e.g. he sick for 3 days now. Now is also used to get attention as in the sentence, now what needs to be done? Now is also used informally to indicate a sense of hesitation as in the sentence ’now what were you saying’.

Now is also used as a conjunction and used in place of since. As for example- ‘Now that I have a big fat paycheck, I can buy a car’. The word now when used both as a noun and as an adverb denotes time. As for example- ‘Now is a good scope to get even with Alan’. Now is used as a subject and thus a noun. We see that now in this particular sentence now denotes time

However know is used as a transitive or an intransitive verb. As for example, in the sentence ’I know that I can do it’ we can get to see a unyielding belief that something can be done. Let us have another example ’I know all the poems written by Keats’. In this sentence means that the knowledge is well memorized.
