Difference Between Samsung Droid Charge and HTC Droid Incredible 2

Verizon’s Droid series saw two new additions with Samsung Droid charge and HTC droid incredible 2. Both these devices support Android 2.2 and use their own brand specific user interfaces.

Samsung Droid Charge has 2GB memory which is expandable up to 32 GB. You get a 32 GB preloaded microSD card along with the device and it can support a talk time of 660 minutes. This device is compatible with 3G CDMA and 4G LTE network and this allows you to enjoy 4G speed in the areas where you get LTE coverage. Another incredible feature of this phone is mobile hotspot feature and this allows you to share this 4G speed with almost 10 devices which are Wi-Fi enabled.

The operating system can be upgraded over air and this phone also allows you to get complete access to Google mobile services because it is certified by Google. Droid charge is loaded with Android, Samsung apps and Verizon special Apps. The duals cameras provide video chat support. The front camera is 1.3 mea pixels and the one at the rear is 8 mega pixels. Internet connectivity is possible through Wi-Fi and you also get Bluetooth connectivity feature with Droid charge. HTC Droid Incredible 2 is fully packed with the features which can be expected out of a next generation phone. Apart from a superfast processor you get a great 8 Mp rear camera. This can easily capture high definition video at 720 p. The display is incredible with bright colors. Although it looks like HTC incredible S but there are no front buttons. There are onscreen buttons which rotates as you change the landscape. You can do file transfer through Bluetooth or by using the micro USB. This phone is Wi-Fi enabled and with SRS WOW HD you get the surround sound effect. This can be your wireless stereo headset with the se of A2DP Bluetooth. GPS is loaded with maps and you get a unified inbox for all the email accounts you have.

Just like Droid Charge it has an OS which can be upgraded and which offers global roaming and you get a data plan and contract of 2 years with Verizon. You can upgrade the OS from Android 2.2.1 to 2.3.

To compare these two models we need to consider some of the basic parameters of comparison:

  • Samsung Droid charge is 4G phone and has AMOLE display of 4.3’ while HTC droid is 3D phone and has Super LCD display of 4’.
  • Processor: Samsung Droid Charge has 1GHz Hummingbird processor with 512MB RAM and 512MB ROM while HTC Droid Incredible 2 is much faster and has 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 processor with 768MB RAM. This processor is used in HTC thunderbolt as well.
  • Camera: Samsung Droid charge has two cameras while HTC Droid Incredible 2 just has a rear camera.

Both these models have many other differences in terms of the audio system and quality of visuals but both of these models are packed with almost everything that you can expect from a Verizon’s Droid series phone.
