Difference Between Shirdi Sai Baba and Sathya Sai Baba 2

India is incredible. It nests saints who have given out their love, tenderness and serenity to the helpless by self-sacrificing their lives. It is also a secular homeland to the people belonging to diverse religions like Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism and Buddhism. Numerous saints follow and preach a particular religion but there are also a few of them who preach and follow love and kindness to the mankind only.

Among these saints are Shirdi Sai Baba and Sathya Sai Baba. Both of these entities are incomparable. But they definitely hold in some similarities and dissimilarities as well. Let us try and find them out.

Shirdi Sai Baba

There won’t be a single city or village in India that has not dedicated a temple in the name of Shirdi Sai Baba. He is the man who is esteemed and admired all over the nation. He spent his entire life in Shirdi, Maharashtra. By showing devotion to him, many people have experienced miracles in their lives. And their belief keeps getting stronger. This is why millions visit Shirdi every year in the belief that they’ll be freed by their sins and impurities.

About his very early life, almost nothing can be told. People give out their assumptions and stories, but they were never cleared out as Baba never uncovered the truth. He is said to have been a Muslim fakir or Lord Dattatreya’s reincarnation. But one thing is for sure- he was adored by all because of the love he gave everybody. He lived an abstinent life and taught or followed no single religion. What he taught was a mixture of the teachings of Hindu and Muslim. Sai means divine, and Baba means fatherly figure. The words that he uttered repeatedly were “Sabka Malik Ek” (one God governs all). He said in 1918 before his death, that he would reincarnate eight years post his death.

Sathya Sai Baba

On 23rd November 1926, in the village of Puttaparthy in Andhra Pradesh, Sathyanaraina Raju was born. Today we know him as Sathya Sai Baba, the man admired and valued by millions world over. He spent a normal life till he was 14, until one day he was bit by a scorpion and became unconscious. As soon he came back into his senses he began murmuring Sanskrit Shlokas and acclaimed that he was the reincarnation of Shirdi Sai Baba. He refused to have any connection with the world. Soon he had followers. He survived four intense heart attacks in 1963. He told the world that eight years post his death another reincarnation of Sai would take place.

Neither did he teach any one religion, nor did he ask people to give up theirs. This was one thing that enamored millions of people towards him. He told the world that his existence cannot be measured or enquired by any science. He also said that the only way to reach him was through love and one could only see him and never come to know about his real identity. Ashrams with 2100 centers in 66 countries ran under him. Many political figures in our nation had a strong belief in him. He left the world and departed on 24th April 2011.

Sathya Sai Baba always silenced people’s doubting heads by saying that he indeed was Sai Baba’s reincarnation. He was just in a different body and even though their appearance did not match, their unselfish love and humanity for everyone was the same. And this made millions of people to follow them and have belief in them.
