32 bit vs 64 bit Windows 7
Buying a computer is often stressful for the majority of consumers because they do not understand computer language. For example, Windows 7 comes in 32 bit and 64 bit and when the salesperson asks your preference it is likely that you have no idea what these terms mean. They are basically the terms used to describe the memory and the processing ability of the computer. Needless to say it is reasonable to assume that a 64 bit processor has double the memory of one that is 32 bit.
The latest operating system to be developed for computers is Windows 7. Just about everyone loves this system because it is so user-friendly and the fact that it can be used at home or in the office. Older computer systems can only support 32 bit processors, but the newer models have the ability to support both 32 bit and 64 bit processors. An easy way to explain what they do is to compare them to buses inside your computer carrying information back and forth. One bus is wider than the other and therefore can carry more data.
What is 32 bit?
The widest that all the units of data can be in a 32 bit processor is, of course, 32 bits. It can directly access 4GB of memory. Most of the software and computer programs on the market are compatible with this operating system since it was the only one that was used in computers developed in the past ten years.
What is 64 bit?
Modern computers are capable of storing much more data because the processor is wider at 64 bit. At one time, this processor was only available for specific purposes but anyone can access it nowadays. It is so much faster than the 32 bit processor.
Both 32 bit and 64 bit processors perform the same function in a computer. It is just that the 64 bit can store more information and it will run the applications much faster.
A 32 bit processor can access a 4 GB memory, but a 64 bit processor can access an 8 GB or even a 16 GB memory.
The digital drivers of a 64 bit processor are more secure and works better with video editing and graphics.
A 64 bit processor can process information much faster than a 32 bit processor.
