Difference between US and UK

The US is an abbreviation which stands for the United States whereas the abbreviation UK stands for the United Kingdom. The UK, a sovereign state, consists of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It is situated off continental Europe at the northwestern coast. The Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea, the English Channel and the Irish Sea surround the UK whilst bordered in the north and south by Canada and Mexico respectively.

The US comprises a federal district and fifty states.  It is a constitutional republic. US, like UK is not a unitary state or constitutional monarchy. It has several Caribbean and Pacific territories too. The US was created or developed by Asian who moved at least 40,000 years ago from their homelands. On the contrary, UK was formed by the political alliance of the Kingdom of Scotland and the Kingdom of England on 1 May 1707.

The UK has four regions namely Scotland, Wales, England and Northern Ireland. A parliamentary system governs the United Kingdom whereas the Federal presidential constitutional republic governs US.  Next to Germany and France, UK is the third largest European country in terms of economic growth and stands at number sixth for the same in the world. The US has plenty of natural resources and driven by a capitalist mixed economy.
