Difference Between Windows Phone 7 Nokia and Symbian Nokia

Windows Phone 7 Nokia and Symbian Nokia are both Nokia creations that run on two singular platforms, namely WP 7 and Symbian. When you plan to buy a new Smartphone for yourself, what is the most imperative feature you have in your mind? Possibly features, looks, or even cost. But what about it’s OS, which is the software that runs the phone? By now most of the Smartphone users have become conscious of Android OS and it definitely has become very popular. Windows Phone 7

Microsoft developed the radiotelephone as a Windows OS for mobile telephones, especially for use in smart phones, but it was gradually phased out in favor of the last phone of Windows 7. Originally Microsoft had planned to upgrade its Windows OS codenaming it Photon, but eventually abandoned it in favor of entirely new OS called Windows Phone 7. It is fully integrated with Xbox Live and Zune are the package of fun for gaming, video players and mass media from Microsoft.

Symbian OS

Symbian OS is the one that is used to Nokia smart phones of Nokia. The Symbian platform is the successor to Symbian OS and has been widely used by Nokia in many of its mobiles. The latest version is Symbian 3 but Nokia recently announced they are doing away & use the phone Symbian Windows 7 as their next OS in smart phones. However, Nokia will continue with the development of their new Smartphone OS ‘MeeGo’.

Symbian was once a very stiff competitor to Android and about 40% of smartphones worldwide used it as their OS. Symbian was completely compatible with Ms Word, Excel, etc. For the act of sending e-mail, Symbian is as good as the Blackberry and supports POP3, IMAP4 and Webmail accounts. It also supports Lotus Notes and Microsoft Exchange for maximum efficiency for business users.

For multimedia purpose Symbian is great for video and audio capabilities. Symbian is most suitable for thousands of third party apps, which weighs heavily in his favor in comparison with other OS.
