Difference Between Breast Augmentation and Implants

The size of breast is very important for women as they are priced possessions which can affect overall personality of a female. Since ancient civilizations, women with full, round and firm breast were considered beautiful and attractive that is why women with small breasts feel unconfident as they think they are unattractive in the eyes of the opposite sex. ┬áSome women have shapeless and loose breasts due to age or because of the breast feeding. Recent advances in medical science have made surgical procedures available to help all these women. Breast implant and uplifting is one such technique that is used to make a woman’s breasts look better in shape and firmer than before.

The increase in chest is a general term used to describe an array of techniques used to make a woman’s breasts look firmer and rounder. This is a surgical procedure that is performed to increase the size of breasts or change the shape of breasts using implants. Sometimes implants may not at all be needed and little outlining and shaping up of the breasts can be just enough to give the appearance of fuller, firmer breasts. Yet the popularity of breast implants is increasing and it is increasingly used by women to increase the size of their breasts.

Breast implants are rubber shells made of silicon that are filled with silicone gel or saline. They are placed below the pectoral muscles under the breasts that make breasts appear larger. One thing to remember in this procedure is that breast implants is cosmetic surgery and is purely for aesthetic purposes. As described above, the artifices of breast implants are of two types called saline implants and silicone implants depending on the type of material used to enhance the breasts. While in case of saline implants, silicone shell filled with saline, the silicone gel is filled inside the shells of silicone to increase the bust of a woman.

FDA has made the study of breast implants and found that they are reasonably safe for women however reasonably safe does not mean safe for every woman and it is in the interest of health of a woman to consult with doctors before deciding to go for breast implant. The implant devices have a limited time and must be removed before they can break or become toxic to the body. Thus a woman who undergoes breast augmentation has to remove the silicone gel before the expiration of three years and become have new implant done.
