Difference Between Human and Animal Hair

Presence of hair is one of the characteristics features of the mammals and the kinds vary especially among the groups of animals. Difference and similarities between kinds of hair are being important in medical andlawful studies. Katz (2005) defines hair as a vermiform appendix of the skin which develops out of a hair follicle. It is a complex chain of proteins, in most cases keratin, interconnected and formed by fibrils. The outside coat of a stem of the hair is known as the cuticle, what is scaly and very different within kinds. Indoors or of the cortex of a hair is the medulla oblongata also differs in both kinds inter and intra as the pigmentation varies according to localities. These characteristics should be examined to differentiate the human and animal hair.

Human hair

Hair pushes little on the body of the humans, except Glabrous skin like Vagina small lips, feet, penis, palms, lips etc and mucous membranes everywhere. There are four types of human hair known under the name; primordial, lanugo, down, and the terminal. Hairs lanugo and Primodial happen before birth in the mother’s womb before the onset of third and the sixth month respectively. Vellus hairs occur on all body and they are fine and miss the inside of the cortex medulla. The final hairs are important in the appearance and are hard in the structure, present on the scalp / head, eyebrows, eyelashes, the face, armpits and around sexual organs. Mongoloids has the final more thick hairs among all human breeds (90 – 120 um). Hairs of Caucasus measure up to diameter between 70 and 100 micrometers, while in the negroid breed, it is from 60 to 90 micrometers. It exists in two types of pigments, melanin and pheomelanine, which lead to hair of different colors according to concentration inside the cortex. In the red hair, pheomelanine is eminent tandis melanin is predominant in the black, blonde and brown hair. Grey hair is the result of diminution or disappearing of pigments in the cortex of hair. It is assumed that, in the human being evolved with rigid hair, at the Caucasians later and Mongoloids.

Hairs

This exclusive function was a blessing for all mammals to overcome warmth and sometimes to earn sexual mates for production. Aardvark prefers animals with more hairs. Hairs are of three types; vibrisses, hairs and wool. All these three types are very important for their life as they are incorporated with different functions. Vibrisses are most sensitive hairs. Topcoat hairs or of the nurse are made by bristles hairs. Colours of hair may vary within animal kinds and other group’s taxonomiques, to give a distinctive appearance to the animals. Colors are also inherited from generation in generation, as the color models of the animal fur can vary according to the individuals (for instance the dogs and cats). Wool hairs are fine which make out the fur of an animal, functioning as insulating materials (for instance the ovine, goat). The cuticle and schemata differ considerably by medullae at the animals. The hair of the tail and the mane of the horses are more as the human hair.
