JSF2 vs. Seam3

Difference between JSF2 and Seam3

JSF2 and Seam3 are both application frameworks that are used to create the latest web applications. These applications are made my unifying and integrating different technologies that are available in the framework. The JSF2 is similar to the seam3 in the sense that they both integrate technologies to create web applications. The difference is in what technologies they use.

What is Seam3 Application Framework?

Seam3 is a platform that has a set of developing tools and modules. It is used to create internet applications by integrating useful technologies which are combined to give easier, simpler, and more sophisticated tooling experience to the developers. These technologies are the JavaServer Faces (JSF), Enterprise Java Beans (EJB 3.0), Java Persistence (JPA), Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX), and the Business Process Management (BPM). Seam3 is designed for simplicity in creating applications.

What is JSF2 Application Framework?

JSF2 is a platform that is created through the Java Community Process (JCP). It creates web applications by reusing and assembling the developing components in a page. It has a Model-View-Controller (MVC) design, which makes the applications it creates easier and simpler to handle.

A brief summary:

  • The JSF2 is similar to the seam3 in the sense that they both integrate technologies to create web applications. The difference is in the technology they use.
  • Java Community Process (JCP) is used to create JSF2
  • JSF2 is simple in itself while seam3 has to have the proper setting of its tools before becoming simple
