Difference between Chennai and Bangalore
Two major cities in India are Chennai and Bangladore. The only thing that they have in common is that they are both capital cities of the regions in which they are located.
About Chennai
Chennai is the capital city of the state of Tamilnadu. It ranks among the Global cities of the world and has been nicknamed the Gamma+ World City. The economy is based on the automotive industries, IT, the manufacture of hardware and healthcare equipment. It is the largest exporter of IT services and products. Car manufacturing is an important economic activity in the areas that surround the city as well.
Some of the big names in the automotive industry that operate in Chennai include Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Capro, Nissan-Renault, Apollo Tires, Komatsu, Ashok Leyland, and Royal Enfield. Avadi is the main area where military vehicles are produced and Tidel Park is a center for software development and sales.
The city of Chennai is located on the thermal equator. As such it enjoys a tropical climate and is hot and humid for much of the year.
Music is very important in Chennai. It is the center for Bharatanatyam dance and carnatic music. It has numerous venues for cultural events and sees thousands of tourists each year who come to enjoy the music programs that take place annually in December and January. These are the main months for music festivals and people come from all over the world to enjoy the festivities.
About Bangalore
Bangalore is the capital city of Karnataka. It is also a Global city and has been nicknamed the Garden City and is ranked with Cairo, Boston, Berlin and Riyadh as a Beta World City. As the fastest growing economic hub in the country it is home to the headquarters of many major software development companies and is India’s Silicon Valley. It is the largest exporter of IT in the country, but the economy also focuses on the aerospace industry, telecommunications and defense organizations. Some of the largest employers in the city are Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bharat Earth Movers Limited, Indian Space Research Organization and Hindustan Machine Tools and Bharat Electronics Limited.
The city enjoys a tropical savanna climate and this is the reason that many people move to Bangalore. There are both wet and dry seasons of the year, but for most of the year the climate is very enjoyable due to Bangalore’s elevation of 920 meters above sea level.
There are many popular tourist attractions in the city such as Vidhana Soudha, Basavanna Gudi, Hesaraghatta Lake and the Bangalore Palace. It is also an important center for Yakshagana dance.
