Difference Between Glass Ceiling And Concrete Ceiling
Concrete ceiling as well as glass ceiling refers to the atmosphere of work that exists in an organisation. There exist certain differences between the two terms concrete ceiling andglass ceiling and these are stated below.
Both the terms are meant to depict the hurdles that are placed in the way of highly qualified people, especially women that result in limiting their growth in the professional field. Concrete ceiling forms a kind of barrier which is solid and is usually encountered in the people belonging to the labor class. Sexual harassment can be seen in both the types of hurdles but are reported more in the case of concrete ceiling hurdles. Concrete ceiling is very difficult to get rid of and usually stops the Advancement of a qualified person in a stage that is neither too high nor too low.
Both the types of hurdles witness deviations and large margin of differences between the salary of two individuals doing the same work, belonging to a disliked religion or race and also lesser salary for women by regarding them incapable of performing certain activities.
