Difference Between Bug and Insects
In the majority Western cultures, approximately all insects are acknowledged as bugs. Sometimes it’s not confined only to refer to insects but also to mites, centipedes, spiders, ticks, scorpions, woodlouse … etc. However, the actual meaning is different for insects in a case of zoology. Bugs actually are the category of insects that belong to Order: Hemiptera. Bugs share features of most other insect, but they become inimitable with respect to other characters.
Bugs
There about 50.000 to 80.000 hemipterans species but only about 6,000 species are described. Mealy Bugs, Tree hoppers, aphids, plant louse and scale insects are a few examples of the members of the Hemipteran Order. A bug can be reduced to Heteroptera (sub-order) and it shares other characteristics that cause them to taxonomically classify all Hemipterans as bugs. They have two pairs of membranous wings. About a half of the forewing is thickened from stand. Still, there are wingless bugs, and sometimes they just forewings. They are equipped with the penetration and sucking mouthparts and the stage / proboscis is pointed. Their antenna has five segments. Tarsi of the legs are segmented in three parts. Their size may vary between 1 millimeter and 15 centimeters. The mouthparts as well as the wings are the most important features that help in distinguishing the semi-hardened Hemipterans from all the other insects. As a result they can be considered as a single group of insects.
Insects
They are the largest group of animals with an expected number of species between 6 to 10 million. Up till now there are about one million described species of insects. Insects can prolong almost all ecosystems because of their extreme versatility. This extremely high number of insect species in the world raises their significance. Some insects are very common butterflies, insects of paddy, ants, bees, beetles,leaf insects, crickets, grasshoppers, mosquitoes … etc. They consist of three specialized sections in the body called the tagma and these sections are the head, the thorax and the abdomen. Essentially, the head is designed for food and sensory functions, especially the thorax for locomotion and functions abdomen chiefly for reproduction. There are three pairs of legs emerging from the thorax. The head has two composite eyes and two antenna sensory functions. In the abdomen, the anus opens the oviduct and rectum to the outside (i.e. they have only one notch for defecation and reproduction). , This group of animal welfare is considered to be most flourishing in the Kingdom: Animalia.
What is the difference between bugs and insect?
Bugs (Order: Hemiptera) be a group under the Class: Insecta, these two share some similar characteristics. The existence of three pairs of legs, composite eyes, segmented antennae … etc are some widespread features of both insects & bugs. Though, the bugs become inimitable for the presence of their typical features. Although the penetration of insects and sucking mouthparts can be used to differentiate them from other insects, mosquitoes have also the same kind of mouth parts. But with the characteristic body form of bugs and their habitats and habits, they are discrete from other insects.
